Chanca Piedra

Known as the “stone breaker,” Chanca Piedra is a small tropical plant that has long been used in traditional Ayurvedic and Amazonian medicine. This potent herb is most widely recognized for its ability to support kidney and liver health, particularly in cases of stones and sluggish detoxification.

Chanca Piedra contains powerful phytochemicals—such as lignans, flavonoids, alkaloids, and terpenes—that contribute to its diuretic, hepatoprotective, and antispasmodic actions. Traditionally used to help break down and expel kidney and gallstones, the herb is thought to relax smooth muscle in the urinary tract, allowing for easier passage of stones and easing associated discomfort.

In addition to urinary support, Chanca Piedra is often used by herbalists to support liver function, promote bile flow, and address viral infections—especially those affecting the liver.
